The long awaited package from Exmoor Trim arrive yesterday, containing the new front seats, door cards, cubby box and rear load bay liner.
Originally LGL had 3 seats across the front but with the additional gear lever for the overdrive and lack of realistic seat belt mounts, the middle seat has been ditched in favour of a cubby box. Nobody wants to be a passenger in the middle seat from experience… 3 in a row seats do allow for a convenient place for a proper lie down and a snooze… with ones feet out of the window.
The cubby box will provide some additional storage space for the necessities required for motoring in Switzerland and the continent. (first aid kit, hi vis, warning triangle, light bulbs, paperwork, passport, logbook, chewing gum, change for the carwash, random receipts, USB cables, wholly hat, gloves, assorted screws, bolts, fuses etc…)
The front seats and door cards are finished in a close replica of the original elephant hide vinyl. They match the rest of the original interior trim panels every well. It’s important for such things to match… right?

Cubby Box…

Door cards…

Rear Load Bay Liner…
I have the same product in the back of the Defender. It has an element of sound attenuation it’s extremely hard wearing and reasonably comfortable to sit on… even for winter camping.

…FIT THE ROOF ANDY…
Hmm… we’ll see…
That’s a nice looking interior. Much better than the original. Nice work!

Hi Noah, sorry for not responding sooner. When driving the vehicle with the elephant hide seats, it felt more like I was sat “on” the vehicle rather than “in” the vehicle. The exmoor trim replacements were rather hard. Plus you sweat copiously. With the leather high back seats (also from exmoor), they “hold” you a lot better and have the added security of a head rest.
