The helpful folks at Turner Engineering suggest the following be done to ship the engine:
1: Buy a pallet2: Piece of cardboard3: Sheet of DPM stapled on top of the cardboard4: 2nd piece of cardboard to soak up any drips5: Fill all the apertures with rags to prevent and remaining oil running out and clingfilm everything. (The checkout assistant at the supermarket gave me a funny look as I purchased 3 roles (90 meters) of clingfilm)
6: Strap the engine (dipstick side down) onto the pallet and hope you don’t need to move it again until someone with a pallet truck turns up
