Now that the transmission brake has been refitted, the series of rods and levers can be bolted back in place to make it work. All of the parts have been refurbished  and have been sat patiently in the basement waiting for use.

With the cross shaft bolted in place, the cranked vertical arm is connected to the longer arm of the relay. The brake actuator connects to the shorts arm of the relay. The hand brake lever being pulled upwards, causes the actuator to be pulled horizontally, causing the brake linings to press against the inside of the transmission drum.
