First, fit the High / Low lever

High / Low lever fitted. This is the lever in the cab with the red knob

Slave cylinder assembly fitted and connected to the clutch release mechanism (and tested)

Next came the main box gear lever. I fitted the oft omitted rubber grommet on the ball at the end of the shaft. This prevents any gear-lever chatter… eg.. waiting at traffic lights in neutral.

Gear lever fitted. A quick cycle through the gears confirms all is good inside the gearbox

Then the handbrake relay is fitted and connected to the drum brake on the back of the gearbox

Front prop shaft is bolted up (I didn’t take any photos of the rear prop shaft but it’s much the same)

 

With all of the mechanical parts bolted up, the floor and interior can be fitted.

Finally after a hot sweaty day, the seats, cubby box and fire extinguisher are fitted. 

 

As with any major overhaul,  a tentative run is required to make sure everything works. A trip to the car wash seemed a good idea and I’m please to say everything worked.
